        .Net is not a software or language*. It is a Technology created by the Microsoft Corporation.

.Net Architecture



.net is used to creating the following applications

• Console
• Window
• Web

Console Application

    Console application is a command based application which not having any user interface. This application mostly used for the socket programming. For the purpose of Machine to Machine(M2M), console application is very useful.

Window Application

     Window Application enables rich user interface. This application provides .exe format installer for the windows based operating systems.

Web Application

       Asp.net is used to create the Web based application this is the third type.
